Reasons To Have Laser Hair Removal

By Hollie Hull

Many people have experienced problems with getting rid of unwanted facial or body hair. There are solutions but they can be costly and not ideal for the person undergoing them.

Shaving is a method of hair removal that has been in use since ancient times. People either had to pluck their hair out to get a more permanent solution, or they were forced to shave every day. Shaving is ineffective because it does not take the hair at the follicle level, but only at the skin. Thus you are left with a quick re-growth that seems to be eve more full than it was previously.

Laser removal is a relatively recent invention that allows for the hair to be burned down to through to the actual root of the hair. This is a more permanent solution that allows the person to maintain the look that they want for a longer period of time.

Unfortunately, if a person has a lot of hair in the area or the have especially black or brown hair, it is apparent that they shaved later in the day. This new method does not let the hair show up like this because it is not just taken at the surface.

The hair does not generally start to reappear until one or two months later. This procedure is also effective in removing some hair permanently in the area, but it will not get rid of all of the hair forever. There will have to be repeat procedures about every three months.

There is one issue that may concern some. If there was a lot of hair where the laser did its work, there may be some re-growth, or at least a shadow, after about a month. This really is not a problem though because the majority will not return for several months.

A region of particularly dense hair growth may also mean that the person trying to remove it cannot get every single strand. This rarely happens because the people who perform the procedure want your return business and they will strive to do a great job.

When you are searching for the right person to do the procedure ask around. It doesn't hurt to get someone you know, who has either had the same thing done or knows a reliable person who has, to give you some advice on whom to see and not to see.

One issue with laser hair removal is that the procedure can cause a burn. The laser's excess energy is absorbed into the skin and it can cause a blister or scarring. The scarring does not stay usually, and the procedure is rarely painful.

When deciding whether to get laser hair removal some people are thrown off by the cost. At a well known clinic in a large city it can be cost prohibitive to some people to have the procedure done. Usually, though it is not an expense that cannot be afforded. If you think that you need it bad enough it is no more expensive than botox.

Remember that there is an added bonus when you have this. Throw out those jars and tubes of wax. Chuck the razors in the trash. You are given a freedom form the conventional methods of hair removal at a relatively low cash layout.
