Discover The 10 Questions That Really Makes You Tick: A Self-improvement Program Preparation

By Damon Nelson

You can be what you want to be, but that does not mean you have to be in the Army. Most of the time I see myself as someone who is contented with life. I am satisfied with the way things are. Of course, it is difficult to feel the same way when there are pressing issues to think of.

Still I aspire for something deeper and more meaningful.

Nobody in this world is freed from problems. To be honest, I don't think these should hinder us from becoming what we want to be. The ambitions we have when we were young should not cease from pursuing in our hearts. Even though we perceive this goal as something we can only reach back when we are younger. I think it best not to listen to this saying: "You can't teach an old dog new tricks."

1. What do I really want? The question of the ages. So many things you want to do with your life and so little time to even go about during the day.

Find something that you are good at can help realize that small step towards improvement. Diligence is the key to know that it is worth it.

2. Should I really change? Today's generation has taken another level of redefining 'self', or at least that's what the kids are saying. Having an army of teenage nieces and nephews has taught me that there are far worse things that they could have had than acne or maybe even promiscuity. So how does that fit into your lifestyle?

We are a witness of change. We have seen how the 70's style discos have evolved to bar and clubs. People are no longer doing the boogie fever. Today, it is more on hip-hop and freestyle. Dancing is still an entertainment but its interpretation varies every decade.

3. What's the bright side in all of this? With so much is happening around us there seem to be no room for even considering that light at the end of the tunnel. We can still see it as something positive without undergoing so much scrutiny. And if it's a train at the end of the tunnel, take it for a ride and see what makes the world go round!

4. Am I comfortable with what I'm doing? As they say dare to be different. It's tempting to just go with the fad but if you really think of it, will you be happy? Don't limit yourself because everybody else is doing something else. All of us are different, we have varied preferences. Grab this gift and be what you want to be.

5. Have I done enough for myself? Try to check what your hung-ups are. Discontentment is another obstacle in your journey to self-improvement. However, small versions of this "un-satisfaction" gives you an opportunity to fill a hunger that you never thought you could do.

6. Am I happy at where I am today? This is one unfair question. Your parents, friends, partner and children adore you. These people would love you forever despite some mishaps you've done.

7. Am I appealing to the opposite sex? So maybe I don't have an answer to that, but that doesn't mean I can't try it, though. Whether you shape-up, change the way you wear your clothes or hair, or even your attitude towards people, you should always remember it will always be for your own benefit.

8. How much could I have? Initially, you have to determine what is too much or what it too little. Also, you must know how badly you need it. Even I would love to earn lots of moolahs, but the real question is how much are you willing to work for.

9. What motivates me? You might get the drive from your parents, wife or kids. Whoever or whatever that is that feeds your fuel, you have to know.

10. What Really Makes You Tick? You can always be that someone that you are aiming to be. Don't let your thoughts push you down. Try it! Don't give up unless you have been in the journey. Attaining your goals entails more than physical strength. It will also demand mental, emotional and psychological efforts. Give it your 100%
