There has been a lot of gradually building concern about the Mayans and will we die in 2012? This usually involves the Mayan calendar and the fact that it ends in 2012. Some people believe that the end of the world may occur at that time while others point out that there have been a number of other apocalyptic scenarios that have also been predicted over the years but which have never proven themselves out.

The question of the Mayan calendar itself, and whether it will actually run out in 2012, brings to light a number of questions. Most reputable scholars and experts on Mayan history and the calendar are quick to point out that it doesn't actually come to a real "end." However, the matter what they say, incipient hysteria that defies all logic seems to arise, mainly out of emotion and not at logic.

In a collective sense, this hysteria over 2012 can be ascribed to a number of beliefs and proposals that seek to argue that the world will be transformed or will end in some sort of cataclysm or apocalypse taking place the year 2012. Specifically, the world exposed and on the 21st or 23rd of December of that year. Supposedly, this is when the Mayan calendar comes to an end.

These forecasts are arrived at by looking at what the Mayan Long Count Calendar -- as the calendar is more formally known -- and then calculating its beginning point and its ending point, which is said to be 5125 years away from the beginning. The arguments in support of this apocalyptic vision are mainly drawn from mythology and archeo-astronomical calculations that may or may not be correct.

Additionally, those maintaining that some sort of apocalypse or transformation is going to occur on either of those two days in 2012 tend to make use of numerology and even a number of prophecies that were supposedly made by aliens or extraterrestrials, none of which can be proven false simply because none of these prophecies or calculations are able to be verified scientifically.

For the most part, any real scholar of Mayan history, culture and society can make a very logical and convincing argument that there is no real "end" to the calendar which supposedly occurs in the year 2012. Additionally, modern Mayans are almost uniform in considering the year 2012 to be a fairly irrelevant occurrence within the context of the calendar. Lastly, much of Mayan history is obscure.

The range of actions that could occur in 2012 read like a smorgasbord of apocalyptic or transformative vision wish-lists. Some predict that the planet will align with a black hole or that we will collide with a planet that has left its orbit or that our poles will shift. Most of these predictions have been rejected as being pseudoscientific, at best. Almost every scenario tends to violate the laws of physics.

Humans, as a species, tend to be attracted to apocalypse because it holds such a frightening allure, meaning as it does the extinction of our race. Throughout history, people have flocked to apocalyptic movements, none of which have ever actually experienced success. The proof of that is that we are still here, though most any movement manages to come up with an excuse for why the apocalypse did not occur that time.

Its quite well known that the much of the negativity that is shown towards the Freemasons is based on what is believed to be their secrecy. It would seem with all of the books and materials that have been published over the years there couldn't possibly be any secrets left unturned if there were some in the first place. Others state that because the secrecy is the priority of the Masons what goes on has never been really released. The Masons look at the fact of keeping their rituals a secret as a bond and not some sinister act. Pro Masons will tell you there are no blood oaths or ceremonies that take place amongst the Masons and certainly no physical violence.

Anti Masons who refer to violence by way of punishment within the Mason walls have been said to glean their information from historical data of the Masons. This is not to say that the Masons of the 1700's were party to violent acts either. It is said that their references from those days in regards to punishment was purely symbolic.

So where does the speculation come in that a Christian because of his beliefs could never become a Mason? It is based on the fact that the Freemasons state they allow all religions to enter their group. It is known that not all religious groups believe in Christ in the same way that the Christians do. The Christians believe that if they do not accept Christ as their way to get into heaven then there is no other way. Other religions do not abide by this. So how could a Christian become part of this organization that says a member must believe in a Superior Being??

The argument goes further. If there are Christians amongst the Masons that have the Christian belief then they are amongst those who they call their brothers that are non-Christian.

In addition to all of this the Freemasons also lays out a plan of salvation, which is depicted, with their ritual of the Common Gavel. It is said by some that this ritual is directed towards those who do not believe in Christ.

Therefore, what is believed to be the actual stand that the Freemasons have on religion. It is indicated that the Lodges have one main deity called the The Great Architect of the Universe?. In the lodge, all members must pray to this deity. They supposedly have a ritual that is based on the afterlife called the slaying and raising of Hiram Abif, who is know to be the Hero of the Masons.

The argument based on actions such as this would raise a better question as to what do Freemasons constitute as a religion if they do not consider themselves as such. In answer to this, some will say they do not have all of the constitution of what constitutes religion. They are referring to no creed, no claim to faith or doctrine, no theory and no worship regimes. They have no religious symbols such as those found in other religions. They raise no money for religion.

It is well known and that the Freemasons date back to at least the 1700?s and most likely even further than that. In those days, it was simply a gathering of stonemasons that enjoyed each others fellowship. It grew over the years as to what we now know as the Freemasons. It would seem more emphasis is placed on the fellowship as opposed to the literal sense of the trade of masonry.

It is easy to say to ourselves, "Well, I have a lot to do today so I'll start prospecting tomorrow or next week". Prospecting not only requires commitment but discipline as well. You are important so make that daily appointment with yourself just as you would will any potentially important customer or client.

Have a specific message. Everyone needs to hear the latest news of markets conditions in your area. It's likely that they have some misinformation and you can become the expert to help them get a more accurate picture.

Sales have always been a "numbers" game. You want to touch as many people as possible. Defining your target market and being organized will help you obtain your goals.

Before you start prospecting, gather a list of names so you don't spend valuable time you are using for prospecting. Get an idea of how many customers you plan to call in your allotted hour or two and have at least a one month supply of names.

Remember you have set aside some time for prospecting. Work in an area without interruption. Don't answer calls or schedule meetings during this time. As you start going through your calls, you will find each call will become easier and easier. Before you know it, you will feel like a pro. You will learn as you go and practice makes perfection.

Consider prospecting during off peak hours when conventional prospecting times don't work. Some of your best work will be done between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM, between 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM, and between 5:00 PM and 6:30 PM. Vary your call times. We are all creatures of habit. So are your prospects. In all likelihood, they are attending the same meeting each Monday at 10:00 AM (or whatever time you can't seem to connect with them). If you cannot get through at this time, call this particular person in your sphere of influence at other times during the day or on other days.

Be persistent. Be motivated. Be disciplined. These will be some of your best merits. Most quality contacts are made after the fifth call. Don't stop or give up. Keep pursuing your dreams. Hard work and dedication will always lead to success.

If exercising three times a week is too hard, then try doing it twice. If that is too hard, then try doing it only once a week. Either way you are doing something good for yourself and you should feel good while doing it. Trying easier would make the process much more painless, and in doing so more likely to allow you to stay positive about the experience.

3) Support group

Finding support from other people can also help to keep you positive and motivated. Having other people just knowing you are on a diet makes it feel like you are not doing this alone. There are many ways to find a support buddy. It could be a co-worker, friend, or family. There are lots of social websites that help link people to do activities together. You can also try joining some outdoor activity groups such as biking or hiking group.

But what happens when you're driving to work and unexpectedly a tree has just fallen. Completely blocking your normal route. This is where the magic occurs. At this point you could make a decision to be angry and upset at the situation.

How about making the decision that you're glad to be alive. That tree could have landed right on top of you had you been just a few minutes earlier. Think of how lucky you are to have missed it.

You notice it's at that time of the pattern interrupt that you can make changes as to where your thoughts are going. At the time of the pattern interrupt, your unconscious mind is looking for instruction from you.

"I need some instructions," is what your unconscious is saying to you.

You see the unconscious mind is great at running patterns or programs. But it is incapable of making a decision. That is where the conscious mind comes in. Can you grasp the power of this?

As I promised, let me give you that gesture that you can use anytime to get yourself into a positive state. I guarantee you've seen the gesture before. After a while you begin to feel this way and develop a mental block. This is a learned behavior and over coming this belief can be difficult alone.

Most sports are not games of luck. A baseball player doesn't hit 5 homeruns in a row because he was lucky, he is focused. If you are not in that zone, it is hard to perform at your best. Often there are outside pressures that influence an athlete's performance such as pressure from coaches, fans or parents, a loud negative person in the stands, or maybe you simply psyched yourself out before the game even started by worrying you would have a bad game. Sure you can work out at the gym for hours on end to improve your skills, or you can try to focus on something else during the game, but you have not really dealt with the issue. Out of Body Travel Down Through the Ages

Out of body travel has been recorded in the annals of history, dating back several centuries to the times of the ancient Egyptians. They called the soul, or the astral body, "Kha," and often reproduced images of it hovering over or beyond the flesh-and-blood body. It was shown to be airy and translucent, and often haloed by light.

In their fascination of the astral body these ancient people used various methods of controlling their ability of out of body travels to other planes of space and time, all the while their physical body stayed put. The first component of out of body travel for the ancient Egyptians involved meditation, it is recorded. The ancient Egyptians associated the flashing patterns and lights as a sign of the beginning of the journey to other planes of space and time by the astral body.

This continued until there were two separate entities, that of the physical body and that of the astral body.

After this separation, the astral body could freely pass through solid objects that the physical body could not. It could also fly and hover without becoming influenced by the lack of oxygen or changes in the atmosphere.

Recordings of the ancient Greeks include examples of out of body astral travel, which expanded on the meditatively-induced state of the ancient Egyptians. This included the experiences of out of body travel by the means of some sort of mental or physical trauma. Plutarch of Queroneia an ancient historian cites that Arisdeu had suffered a blunt head trauma after falling and then slipped into a coma that lasted three days.

At this time, Arisdeu tells of the ability to see his physical body laying on the ground yet he was free to move around without it. In astral form he tells of his ability of out of body travel to go to places that were not conceivable. He was met by his spirit guide while in astral form. His spirit guide assisted and advised him concerning astral travel in other existing astral planes.

Ancient Egyptians and Greeks are not the only cultures to record the history of out of body travel. The history of the Native Americans contains many full accounts of similar occurrences. These include meeting spirit guides and spirit animals advising on the traveling of the astral body. How Are You Dealing with the New Normal?

We live in a constant state of change. Many people are calling it The New Normal because it's now become normal for things to no longer be normal.

Some changes are significant and some aren't. Some changes are obvious and some are inconspicuous-at least at first. Whether it's in our business and career or in our family and home, we need to understand and anticipate-as best we can-what change will mean for us.

There are two simple questions that can help us navigate these waters.

1. What's different from what used to be?

2. What's still the same?

We have a natural tendency to think things are still the way they were. And they usually aren't.

It's easy to get blindsided by something that changed politically, environmentally, socially and culturally. We might have known about the change, but we might not have thought it through to see what the impact would be on us, our business, our family, our finances and our health.

Take a few moments when you can think quietly and answer the two questions above. Dig deep. Think globally as well as locally.

This is not a time to judge what's changed or not changed. It's simply a time to notice and record what you notice.

When you've done this, ask yourself how each thing that's changed has affected you and the various aspects of your life-all the things you care about. How does it affect you? DOES it affect you? How MIGHT it affect you? If the things that have remained the same continue to remain the same, will they be helpful or not? I believe that the greatest lever for change is awareness.

My best sense is that the masses of people don't practice this. And they end up surprised, bewildered and angry.

But as you enter into this practice and do it intentionally over a period of time, you'll find yourself automatically thinking about change and events and how they will likely affect your world.

You will make more and finer distinctions. You will become more aware, wiser, more resourceful-and better able to cope with and exploit change. And that will be different.

Ironically, in this age of information overload, scientists are still looking for answers on the connection between the thoughts in mind and reality. They go through ancient scrolls and text to conclude the true nature of reality.

So if reality is a creation of our mind, then it seems logical to presume that we can change our reality by changing the way we think about things. We can change things into whatever we want with the power of the mind.

One place to start making relevant changes to life is by mental conditioning. Unlocking the power of the mind through meditation can clear out unnecessary thoughts and replace it with positive thoughts and fresh new ideas. There are actually a number of techniques on which you can meditate and effectively develop the power of the mind.

To effectively meditate, try sitting on a comfortable chair in a darkened room. Close your eyes and concentrate on your breathing. Breathe in through your nose and out to your mouth. You may experience light headedness but it is only your body's natural reaction to the increase in its system's oxygen supply.

Start by picturing in your mind that you are sitting in front of a tranquil pond, full of small pebbles. These pebbles represent every day thoughts and ideas that are constantly entering and exiting your head. Picture yourself removing these random thoughts one by one, clearing them out. Once this is done, you are ready to unlock the power of the mind. One the one side you have a pile of these random thoughts, on the other you have another pile with wishes and wants.

Of course, wishing for causes like world peace and global warming is unreachable with only one person. But you can do your part in saving the planet by doing some recycling and waste segregation. However, wishing for dream jobs and happiness in love is something that you can achieve with the power of your mind. While the mind influences virtually all aspects of your life, it is you that controls your mind and make it work to bring all good things into your life.

For example, if you are having trouble in your relationship, you could wish for help communicating with your partner. While you can't make them communicate with you, you can influence them by improving yourself.

You need to understand that although the power of the mind can bring positive changes in your life, it might not happen right away. Some things like relationship troubles take time. Unlocking the power of the mind is not something that you can work out in one sitting, but you can start with simple things like positive thinking to make progress.

Remember that you still have to do your part. If you wish for better communication with your partner, you have to start talking to them about things that bother you, in a respectful manner. If you wish for that dream job, you still have to look through the classified ads and such.
